It is the most famous restaurant in Olsztyn, since this right next to the biggest lake in the city, on the shore and the view is very good, in both winter and summer. Although it is best to go in summer or spring, since you can go to the terrace, you can the sun and the swans that come to eat. The menu is available in both Polish and English, the price is very good, the service and the food exquisite, and they specialize in fish dishes that are great! Not in the heart of town and although you can get the bus, I recommend taking a taxi.
If you are looking for typical Polish home cooking this is your restaurant! It is on a side street on the way to the old library, the street where the store is, to the right, towards the cathedral. It is very small with only about 4-5 tables and when it is very busy people often share tables. It specializes in soups, pierogi and crêpes, all homemade and tasty, and cheap! There are over 6 types of soups, and my favorite is the cheese soup, it is great! It has a glass window that faces the street with motifs of the season or the holiday that corresponds. It is an ideal place to eat Polish food.
This cafe has a lot of charm! It's a cafe that was a former cinema, so there is only 1 room and the billboard movies are less commercial, but watching a movie in that theater is nice. It has 3 rooms, the 1st is painted off-white with flowers, romantic, wooden tables and chairs and windows facing the street and you can see the library, another environment in a chill style showing a garden, with plants on the wall as if it were outside and the last and best is next to the box office cinema, the seats are wooden cinema seats and although they are not cozy sitting in them is really something, the atmosphere is amazing, with pictures of black and white players, a former Radio ... It's my favorite coffee shop and I went there every week when I was living in Olsztyn, I loved and I miss it. The menu is only in Polish, but had a lot of variety of teas and coffees, each with the name of a movie; their homemade cakes, a delight , like the tortillas. It is without doubt the best coffee shop in Olsztyn.
The photo is horrible, but they wouldn't let me take pictures of the window, a shame because you've seen all the cakes they have and... madre mia! they're all great! 4 or 5 cheesecakes, as many of apple (the typical Polish), tiramisu ... The pie slices are around €1 and are the best I've ever eaten! Also make coffees and cappuccinos and are quite good. WWeekends and in summer it's full, there's a queue for ice cream!
The center of Olsztyn, in spite of not being very big has many restaurants and a lot of class. The Restaurant Weranda is Greek and you can eat very well there(well, we went to dinner). The decoration is very well-lloked after, in white wood. It has 2 floors, although the ground floor only has a couple of tables, the kitchen and the bathroom and the first floor has many more tables. The truth is that we ate very well!
