As its name suggests, El Palacete del Corregidor is a palace-like structure dating back hundreds of years in the narrow, winding alleyways of Almuñecar's old town. The rooms have a rustic Andalusian charm with tile work, heavy wooden furniture, and a minimalist tone empasizing timeless quality over gimmicks. It's also got a lovely patio with flowering plants and a Moorish fountain. The other highlights are the Andalusian-style bathrooms (which are almost as big as the bedroom itself) that are open, airy, and clean. We had an excellent night's rest with no noise from the streets seeping in and the older gentleman manning the desk was about as sweet and helpful as we could have asked.
