Here is my recommendation for where to sleep in Vilnius (Lithuania)!! And the winner is ... Pillis GUESTHOUSE!. For 10 euros a night (which isn't the cheapest in the world) you can sleep in the historical center of this beautiful city. Pillis Guesthouse is a renovated brick bungalow converted to house guests. Each partt of the house is a private room, the kitchen is well equipped and is shared. I was put to sleep in the attic with private bathroom - a great stay. I recommend it especially for the location, which to me is something super important and the price is not bad too. Note: It is somewhat difficult to find. When you are in Traku Street, which is where the guesthouse is, you have to find the entrance to the property (tunnel entrance). Entering it, you will find the housethere. If you liked this place and want to continue traveling in Lithuania looking at my profile place to plan your route! And if you have any questions, let me have them. I'll gladly answer. A GREETING FROM MINUBE!
Situated in a privileged place in the capital of Lithuania, near the Town Hall and the entertainment area. It offers spa and a well-equipped fitness room, that you can use upon payment of 10 € per day (special rate for guests). The restaurant offers a varied menu of traditional food and drink, being a meeting place for people selected by people from the surrounding area.
Vilnius is a small city so there aren't many youth hostels offered. We finally decided on Hostelgate. The hostel is 10-15 minutes walk from the train or bus stations (also the airport bus). The hostel is centrally located and is very close to a supermarket, money exchange offices, etc. It's tiny, like a three-storey house, but both rooms, kitchen and living room are great. The three of us were mixed in a room of 6 people. The bathroom was outside and there were only 2 bathrooms (including a shower), but we never had to wait. They have internet, but there is a fee, and they don't include breakfast or towels. They ask you to take off your shoes before going upstairs. The staff is very attentive and willing to help. Conclusion: It's a good place with a backpacker vibe to leave your stuff and tour the city, hike all day to Trakai, etc. But don't expect luxury.
